What Works for Women’s Equality: Insights from Research and Practice

This half-day conference is funded through a three-year award from the U.S. State Department to the Elliott School’s Global Gender Program to establish a partnership with the Gender and Development Studies Department at Lahore College for Women University in Pakistan.

Speakers will provide insights from research and practice about challenges for women’s equality around the world and examples of what works to overcome such challenges. The eight speakers are academics and policy professionals, and some combine both roles. Presentations address both faith-based and secular approaches to improving women’s status and well-being. Case studies concern Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia, Morocco, Peru, and Global Vision, an international Christian NGO.
