Courses

The Global Gender Policy Program is the curriculum hub for GEIA. We have 22 courses on Gender in International Affairs; 14 at the graduate level and 8 at the undergraduate level. We have more courses on Gender than any other school in the DC area. We understand the relationship between gender and power and the role of gender as a driver of conflict and a key tool for analysis in security, development, humanitarian response, and public policy to create better outcomes for all, particularly marginalized populations. In the interests of mainstreaming gender in the Elliott School’s curriculum we designed a Gender Analysis Toolkit for our faculty colleagues to access books, journal articles, policy reports, and Op Eds they can use to inform/include in their syllabi. This fall we launched our first undergraduate concentration on Gender in International Affairs which joins the Gender Specializations available to students through IDS, MAIA, MIPP, IPDGC. To find out more about our student experience sign up for the GEIA news bulletin. We look forward to seeing you in one of our classrooms soon!’ – Dr. Shirley Graham
